At 1.30 the life-boat Edmund and Mary Robinson, on temporary duty at the station, was launched in a choppy sea. There was a gentle easterly wind and it was high water. The life-boat met the steamer four miles north of Point Lynas, and the seaman, who had pneumonia, was transferred to her and landed at Moelfre. where an ambulance was waiting to take him to hospital.
