The Sailing Boat Parakeet

Boulmer, Northumberland. At 11.35 on the morning of the 28th of August, 1959, the honorary secretary was in- formed that a sailing boat was lying to her anchor in a position which might become dangerous off the mouth of the River Aln. At 11.50 the life-boat Clarissa Langdon was launched in a moderate swell. There was a strong northerly wind and it was high water.The life-boat found the seventeen-feet sailing boat Parakeet of Blyth with her owner on the bottom boards feeling ill.
