Random Harvest

Montrose, Angus. During the after- noon of the llth of September, 1959, reports reached Montrose that the fishing boat Random Harvest had been in collision and was being escorted into harbour by the Aberdeen trawler Strathlossie. At 4.40 it was decided to launch the life-boat The Good Hope to meet the damaged vessel and her escort and stand by as they tried to enter harbour. The weather was hazy with light north-westerly airs. The sea was calm and it was one hour before low water. The life-boat escorted the vessels into harbour and reached her station at 6.30.
