Flamborough, Yorkshire. At 7.30 on the evening of the 29th of September, 1959, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that a small motor boat appeared to have broken down off Flamborough Head. At 7.55 the life- boat Friendly Forester was launched in a rough sea. There was a strong south- easterly wind, and it was one hour after high wafer. A red flare a quarter of a mile east of Flamborough Head was seen from the life-boat, and this was followed by a second flare shortly afterwards. The casualty was the fishing boat Onoway of Bridlington, with a crew of three. The life-boat took her in tow to the north landing and reached her station at 8.35.
