Walmer, Kent. At 3.15 on the after- noon of the 25th of April, 1959, the coxswain was informed that a catamaran with three people on board had capsized. He saw the casualty about four hundred yards off the life-boat house, and at 3.30 the life-boat Charles Dibdin (Civil Service No. 32) was launched. There was a moderate sea, with a fresh south-westerly wind blowing and a flood tide. The weather was overcast with occasional rain showers. The life-boat made for the casualty and picked up three men from the water. She then took the sailing catamaran Santa Maria in tow and reached her station at 4.15.
