Cloughey, Co. Down. At 12.6 early on the morning of the 15th of June, 1959, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that a boat needed help three quarters of a mile off shore near North Rock. At 12.50 the life-boat Constance Calverley was launched in a smooth sea.
There was a gentle north-north- westerly breeze and it was nearly low water. The life-boat found the motor cruiser Pathfinder of Whitehead, which was making for Portavogie harbour, and the coxswain was told that the boat had developed engine trouble on passage from Porthferry to Donaghadee.
The life-boat escorted her to harbour and reached her station at 3.15.
Rewards to the crew, £7 4s. ; rewards to the helpers on shore, £10 9s..
