Ramsgate, Kent. At 10.32 on the night of the 20th of April, 1959, a message was received from the east pier watchman that a yacht was anchored three miles north-east of Ramsgate.

She had engine trouble and needed help.

At 10.44 the life-boat Michael and Lily Davis put out in a slight sea, with a light easterly wind blowing and an ebb tide. The life-boat found the yacht Jan Bart of Antwerp, with a crew of five, took her in tow, and reached her station at 10.22. Property salvage case.
