Mumbles, Glamorganshire. At noon on the 3rd of May, 1959, the coastguard informed the coxswain that the cabin cruiser Elizabeth Victoria of Swansea was in difficulties half a mile south ofthe coastguard look-out. She found the cabin cruiser with a crew of five in broken seas on the Mixen Sands.

After several attempts a tow line was made fast and the cabin cruiser was brought to a safe anchorage in the bay.
