Mr. Barrie Bennetts

Mr. Barrie Bennetts, who had received the highest award the Institution can make to a voluntary worker, that of appointment as honorary life governor, died on the 26th of July, 1958, at the age of 75. He had been honorary secretary of the Penlee station branch from 1913 until 1957, when he retired.

He was well known as a solicitor in Cornwall, was Registrar of the Penzance and Helston County Courts, and a coroner for many years. He was also a most distinguished athlete, having played rugby football for England and represented Cornwall at cricket, golf and hockey..
