The life-boat Annie Blanche Smith put out at 11.30 in a calm sea. A moderate north-westerly wind was blowing, and it was high water. The life-boat found the motor launch Monica of Waterford with three men on board. They had been fishing and had burnt some of their clothing to attract attention.
