Dover, Kent. At 12.55 early on the morning of the 25th of May, 1958, the eastern arm signal station informed the honorary secretary that a vessel was firing red flares off South Foreland. At 1.10 the life-boat Elizabeth Elson, on temporary duty at the station, put out in a rough sea. There was a fresh southerly breeze and the tide wasflooding. The life-boat found the yacht Widgeon II, with a crew of two, half a mile off shore. She towed her to Dover harbour, arriving at 2.50. Re- wards to the crew etc., £7. 5s..
