Vervine Blossom
Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford. At 2.22 on the afternoon of the 8th of January, 1958, a resident of Wexford told the coxswain that he had heard from one of his own fishing boats that the fishing vessel Vervine Blossom was aground on the east corner of Wexford bar and was lying on her side. At 2.35 the Douglas Hyde put out in a moderate sea with a strong south- south-westerly wind blowing. It was low water. The Vervine Blossom refloated shortly before the life-boaarrived, and the life-boat escorted her to Rosslare harbour, arriving there at 3.40.
