Walmer, Kent. At 10.30 on the morning of the 13th of January, 1958, the Deal coastguard told the coxswain that a motor boat had broken down with engine trouble a quarter of a mile south of South Brake buoy. The life- boat Charles Dibdin (Civil Service No. 2) was launched at 10.35 in a slight sea. There was a moderate west- north-westerly wind and the tide was ebbing. The life-boat found the motor boat Gypsy King of Deal near the South Brake buoy with a crew of two. She took her in to Deal and reached her station at 11.45.
