Undaunted
Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford.— At 9.50 on the night of the 3rd of November, 1957, the Assistant In- spector of Irish Lights telephoned to say he had received a message from Tuskar Rock that a boat was burning flares two miles west of Tuskar Rock.
At 10.20 the life-boat Douglas Hyde put out in a heavy swell. There was a moderate north-westerly breeze blow- ing and it was low water. The life- boat found the fishing vessel Undaunted, of Dunmore East, with engine trouble.
She had a crew of three, who made temporary repairs to her. The life-boat then escorted the fishing vessel to Rosslare Harbour, arriving at 1.45.
Rewards to the crew, £7 ; reward to the helper on shore, 15s..
