A Catamaran
Eastbourne, Sussex. At 5.10 on the evening of the 20th of October, 1957, the police reported that a boat had capsized three quarters of a mile east of the life-boat house. The life-boat Beryl Tollemache was launched at 5.30 in a rough sea. There was a fresh south-westerly breeze and the tide was flooding. The life-boat found a cata- maran with two people on board.
After taking them on board, the life- boat towed the catamaran to her station, arriving at 7.30. The owner made a donation to the branch funds.
