Jochelle

Southend-on-Sea, Essex.—At 11.20 on the morning of the 18th of August, 1957, the coastguard reported that a cabin cruiser was aground on the Barrow sands. At 11.40 the life-boat Greater London II (Civil Service No.

30) was launched in a moderate sea.

There was a fresh north-westerly breeze blowing, and it was low water.

The life-boat came up with the cabin cruiser Jochelle, with four people on board. She was just afloat, but both her engines had broken down. The life-boat took her in tow to her station, arriving at five o'clock.—Property Salvage Case..
