A Dinghy (2)
Ramsgate, Kent.—At 7.35 on the morning of the 22nd of May, 1957, the Deal coastguard telephoned that the east pier watchman had reported a dinghy drifting past Quern buoy.
At 7.52 the life-boat Greater London (Civil Service No. 3), on temporary- duty at the station, put out. There was a moderate sea, a light north- easterly breeze was blowing, and the tide was ebbing. The life-boat came up with the dinghy, which was empty, and towed her back to Ramsgate.
The life-boat returned to her moorings, arriving at 8.9.—Rewards to the crew etc., £7 105..
