Kindly Light,

North Sunderland, Northumberland.— During the morning of the 30th of January. 1957, the fishing boat Kindly Light, of Seahouscs, was reported over- due. At 11.23 the life-boat Grace Darling was launched in a very rough sea. There was a strong southerly breeze, and the tide was flooding. The life-boat found the Kindly Light about a mile and a half east of Beadnell.

Her wheelhouse windows had been smashed by very heavy seas. The life-boat escorted her to harbour, arriving there at 12.18.—Rewards to the crew. £7 10s.; rewards to the helpers on shore, £5 8s..
