Coxswain Howard Knight
MR. HOWARD PRIMROSE KNIGHT, who died on the 23rd of November, 1956, served in the Ramsgate life-boat for more than twenty-three years. He was coxswain from 1935 to 1946, and for his services in helping to bring off some 2,800 men from the beaches Dunkirk he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. The Ramsgate life-boat was away for over forty hours; for thirty hours she worked on the beaches, and for nearly all that time she was under fire. During Mr.
