A Canvas Canoe

New Brighton, Cheshire.—At 1.15 on the afternoon of the 16th of March, 1957, the life-boat coxswain received a message from the New Brighton stage- man saying that the hopper Gamma had reported that she had seen two bovs drifting in a small canvas canoe near the 11. 6 buoy in the Rock Channel. Fifteen minutes later the life-boat, Cii'il Service No. 5, on tem- porary duty at the station,, put out.
