Walmer, Kent.—At 8.2 on the even- ing of the 12th of July, 1956, Deal coastguard rang up to say that the South Goodwin lightvessel had re- ported that a yacht was in distress near the lightvessel. The life-boat Charles Dibdin (Civil Service No. 2) was launched at 8.40. The sea was moder- ate, there was a moderate north- easterly breeze, and it was low water.

The life-boat found the yacht Frou Frou towing the yacht Stormalong off Dover harbour. She stood by both vessels until they were safely inside the harbour entrance. The life-boat returned to her station, arriving at 10.30.—Rewards to the crew, £10; rewards to the helpers on shore, £17 8s..
