Morning Star

Shoreham Harbour, Sussex.—At 10.42 on the morning of the 18th of August, 1956, the coastguard rang up to say that the Worthing beach inspector had reported a small yacht apparently in trouble off Splash Point, Lancing.

The life-boat Rosa Woodd and Phyllis Lunn was launched at 10.50. There was a rough sea, with a fresh south- west gale blowing and an ebbing tide.

The life-boat came up with the yacht Morning Star, with a crew of two, some two miles off Lancing. The yacht did not require help and was escorted back to Shoreham, which was reached at noon.—Rewards to the crew, £7; re- wards to the helpers on shore, £3 Is..
