Summer Rose

Kirkcudbright, Kirkcudbrightshire.— At 5.50 on the afternoon of the 20th of May, 1956, the Portpatrick coast- guard reported that a fishing boat was in distress off Castle Point, Solway Firth, and was drifting towards the rocks. At 6.15 the life-boat J. B.

The life-boat was able to get a line aboard the Summer Rose and tow the boat to Kippford. She then returned to her station, arriving at 11.15.—Rewards to the crew, £9 12s.; rewards to the helpers on shore, £2 16s..
