MR. HAROLD WATKINSON, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, has awarded the shield for the best wreck service of 1955 carried out by coast life-saving companies to be held by the companies of Gardenstowii and Banff jointly. The award is for the rescue from the Belgian trawler Beatrix Fernande on the night of the 14th of December, 1955. An account of this service appeared in the March number of the Life-boat on page 222..
