Scarborough, Yorkshire. — At 6.10 on the morning of the 8th of June, 1956, the coxswain reported that four local fish- ing boats were returning to the harbour in a heavy sea. A west-north-westerly gale was blowing, and the tide was ebbing. The life-boat E.C.J.R. was launched at 7.40.
