Carbery Lass

Baltimore, Co. Cork.—On the after- noon of the 23rd of May, 1956, anxiety was felt for the safety of the local ftshingboat CarberyLass, which was long overdue. The life-boat John R. Webb, on temporary duty at the station, was launched at 4.45 in a moderate sea,with a south-westerly breeze blowing and a flooding tide. She came up with the Carbery Lass, of Skibbereen, which had a crew of six, some six miles south-west of Baltimore. The boat's engine had broken down.
