Barracuda

Hoylake, Cheshire.—At eleven o'clock on the night of the 8th of June, 1956, a report was received by the coxswain that two men in a motor yacht anchored in Hoylake were showing lights and calling for help. At 11.32 the life-boat Oldham IV was launched at high water in a rough sea. Therewas a strong north-easterly breeze.

The life-boat found the motor yacht Barracuda half full of water. She took the two men on board and landed them, arriving back at her station at 11.50.—Rewards to the crew, £5; rewards to the helpers on shore, £6 8s..
