A Yacht

Porthdlnllaen, Caernarvonshire. — At six o'clock on the evening of the 27th of May, 1956, the coastguard reported that a yacht was in difficulties off Caernarvon bar. The life-boat Charles Henry Ashley was launched at 6.35 at low water. There was a moderate sea, with a gentle north-easterly breeze blowing. While she was at sea the life-boat received a message that the yacht was safely over the bar, but that another yacht was on the bank south-east of Llanddwyn Island. The life-boat came up with the second yacht, which had a crew of four. She was aground, and at her master's request the life-boat towed her off and took her to Caernarvon. The life-boat then returned to her station, arriving at 12.20 early on the 28th of May. The master made a gift to the crew.—Rewards to the crew, £10 18s.; rewards to the helpers 011 shore, £5 2s..
