Incentive
Girvan, Ayrshire.—About nine o'clock on the night of the 27th of February, 1956, the police reported that the fishing boat Incentive, of Dunure, had sent a radio message that she had lost her rudder and was lying at anchor about two and a half miles north of the harbour. At 9.15 the life-boat Robert Lindsay put out. She made for the position in a rough sea, with a strong southerly breeze blowing and a flood- ing tide. Two other fishing boats had taken the Incentive in tow, and the life-boat escorted all three boats to Girvan, reaching her station again at 10.20.—Rewards to the crew, £7 105.; rewards to the helper on shore, ISs..
