The S.S. Moorwood

Cromer, Norfolk.—About 10.45 on the morning of the 28th of September, 1955, the coastguard telephoned that a message had been received from the Humber radio station that the S.S.

Moorwood, of London, had asked if the life-boat would take out a doctor to attend to a sick man. At 11.10 the No. 2 life-boat Harriot Dixon was launched with a doctor on board. She made for the steamer in a moderate sea with a moderate north-west breeze blowing. She came up with her two and a half miles to the north-east and put the doctor aboard. He found that the man had died. The body was left in the ship, and the doctor re- embarked in the life-boat, which re- turned to her station, arriving at 12.25.
