Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.—At 3.30 on the afternoon of the 15th of July. 1955.

the Civic Guard at Dalkey reported that a private aircraft with a crew of two had crashed in Killiney Bay. At 3.48 the life-boat Dunleary II put out.

The sea was smooth, there was a light south-easterly breeze, and the tide was flooding. The life-boat found the air- craft in twenty feet of water near the shore, grappled her and beached her, and then returned to her station, arriving at 7.15.
