Barra Island, Outer Hebrides.—At 8.15 on the evening of the 9th of April, 1955, a local doctor asked if the life- boat would take a sick person to Lochboisdale for conveyance to Glas- gow by air ambulance. At 8.45 the life-boat Lloyd's put out in a rough sea, with a moderate south-westerly breeze blowing. She took the patient to Lochboisdale and reached her station again at six o'clock on the morning of the 10th.—Rewards to the crew, £17 1.9.; rewards to the helpers on shore, 19s. Refunded to the Institution by the St. Andrew's and Red Cross Scottish Ambulance Service..
