Welsh Girl

Barmouth, Merionethshire.—At 3.42 on the afternoon of the 9th of January, 1955, the coastguard telephoned that a man had reported that the local fishing boat Welsh Girl had gone aground on the South Bank at the harbour bar. At 4.15 the life-boat The Chieftain was launched. The sea was moderate, a fresh south-south- west wind was blowing, and it was low water. The fishing boat, which had a crew of three, refloated, and the life- boat escorted her to the harbour, reaching her station again at 5.5.— Rewards, £8..
