Sandwich

Ramsgate, Kent.—At 3.49 on the after- noon of the 14th of December, 1954, the coastguard telephoned that the harbour office had reported a boat in need of help off West Cliff lift in Pegwell Bay. At 3.57 the life-boat Michael and Lily Davis put out. The sea was calm, a light breeze was blow- ing, and the tide was ebbing. The life-boat found that the motor boat Sandwich, which had a crew of two, had broken down. She towed her to Ramsgate, arriving at 4.20.—Rewards, £7 12s. 6d.
