Ramsgate, Kent.—At 6.20 on the evening of the 8th of November, 1954, two fishermen who had just come in from sea told the life-boat coxswain that a motor-boat had a broken rudder in Pegwell Bay. At 6.35, in a flooding tide, the life-boat Michael and Lily Davis put out. The sea was rough, and a strong south-south-west breeze was blowing. The life-boat found the motor boat Pat IV, of Ramsgate, with a crew of two, in broken water and fired lines to her. She took her in tow and brought her to Ramsgate, arriving at 7.45.
