Pat IV

Ramsgate, Kent.—At 6.20 on the evening of the 8th of November, 1954, two fishermen who had just come in from sea told the life-boat coxswain that a motor-boat had a broken rudder in Pegwell Bay. At 6.35, in a flooding tide, the life-boat Michael and Lily Davis put out. The sea was rough, and a strong south-south-west breeze was blowing. The life-boat found the motor boat Pat IV, of Ramsgate, with a crew of two, in broken water and fired lines to her. She took her in tow and brought her to Ramsgate, arriving at 7.45. The men made gifts to the life-boatmen.—Rewards, £7 13s..
