Antigoon

Angle, Pembrokeshire.—At five o'clock on the afternoon of the 12th of Novem- ber, 1954, the St. Govan's coastguard rang up to say that the motor vessel Antigoon, of Antwerp, had broken down four miles south-west-by-west of St. Govan's Head. At 5.30 the life- boat Elizabeth Elson put out. The sea was rough, and a gale was blowing from the north-north-west. The life- boat made for the position in a flooding tide, and when she reached it, the master asked the life-boat to stand by his ship. The life-boat remained until the crew of the Antigoon had repaired their engine, and then made for her station. On the way she searched for a man who had fallen overboard from H.M.S. Venus, but did not find him. She reached Angle Bay at 4.30 the next morning. The master of the Antigoon expressed his thanks. ! —Rewards, £38 15*..
