The Converted Ship's Boat Sun

Anstruther, Fifeshire.—At 10.10 on the morning of the 29th of August, 1954, the coastguard rang up to say that a man at Pittenweem had reported that a small boat was drifting towards the shore east of Pittenweem. It was low water when the life-boat James and Ruby Jackson was launched at 10.15, and she made for Pittenweem in a calm sea with a light westerly breeze blowing. She found the con- verted ship's boat Sun, of Stonehaven, with a crew of three, a quarter of a mile east of the harbour. The Sun had run short of fuel, and the life-boat towed her to Anstruther, arriving at 10.48.—Rewards, £9 Is. 6d..
