Squall

Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford.—At 8.15 on the morning of the 3rd of Septem- ber, 1954, the coxswain noticed that the yacht Squall, of Belfast, which was anchored in the harbour, was dragging towards the pier. At 8.30 the life-boat Douglas Hyde put out in a flooding tide.

The sea was rough and a fresh gale was blowing from the south. The life-boat towed the yacht, which had a crew of two, clear of the pier, took her to a safe anchorage and reached her station again at 9.30.—Partly Permanent Paid Crew.—-Rewards, 15*..
