Silver Craig

Troon, Ayrshire.—At one o'clock early on the morning of the 24th of July, 1954, the Kildonan coastguard tele- phoned that the police had reported that a woman, who had been taken ashore from the converted fishing boat Silver Craig, had stated that the boat had broken down and needed help one mile off Corrie. At 1.30 the life-boat Sir David Richmond of Glasgow put out. The sea was moderate, a light westerly breeze was blowing, and it was four hours after low water. The life-boat found the Silver Craig, with eleven people on board, towed her to Brodick, where she arrived at five o'clock, and reached her station again at eight o'clock.—Rewards, £10 10.
