Phoenix
Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.—At 4.50 on the afternoon of the 3rd of July, 1954, the Dalkey Civic Guard reported that a motor boat was in difficulties about four miles south-east of Mugglin Island. At 5.30 the life-boat Dun- leary II put out. The sea was rough, a strong west-south-west wind was blowing, and the tide was ebbing.
The life-boat found that the motor boat Phoenix, of Dublin, which had a crew of four, had broken down, and she towed her to Dun Laoghaire, arriving at 6.40. The owner made a gift to the life-boatmen.—Rewards, £7..
