Mouette
Poole, Dorset.—At one o'clock early on the morning of the 24th of September, 1954, a message was received from the coastguard that shouts for help could be heard from a yacht in Poole harbour.
At 1.15 the life-boat Thomas Kirk Wright was launched. The sea was rough, and a gale was blowing from the south-south-east. The life-boat search- ed in an ebbing tide and found the local yacht Mouette driving ashore. She went alongside but the yacht's crew of three had been taken off by a motor launch. The life-boat towed* the yacht to Poole quay, reaching her station again at 8.15.—Rewards, £13 16s. 6d..
