New Brooch Bars for Medallists
BROOCH bars for winners of the medals awarded by the Institution have recently been introduced and are now issued to all medallists. The bars are covered with the Institution's medal ribbon, which is light blue in colour, and are 1| in. wide and in. deep. A small emblem of the effigy of Sir William Hillary, the founder of the Institution, is attached to the bars in gold, silver or bronze. The brooch bars are for wearing on occasions when medals are not worn. Medallists also receive a miniature reproduction of the medal which they have won in the form of a badge for wearing in the coat lapel. Those entitled to brooch bars who wish to receive them should apply to the Secretary of the Institu- tion..
