A Sailing Boat

Buckle, Banffshire.—At 3.15 on the afternoon of the 9th of May, 1954, the coastguard rang up to say that a small sailing boat was in difficulties three and a quarter miles north-north-west of Buckie. At 3.32 the life-boat Glencoe, Glasgow was launched. The sea was choppy with a strong south- easterly wind blowing. The life-boat found that the sailing boat, with two youths on board on a pleasure trip, had become unmanageable in the wind. She rescued them and towed the boat to the harbour, arriving at 4.50.—Rewards, £6 8*..
