Barra Island, Outer Hebrides.—At 9.30 on the morning of the 20th of March, 1954, a local doctor asked if the life- boat would take a very sick man to Lochboisdale, where arrangements had been made to fly him to Glasgow. At 10.51 the life-boat Lloyds put out, with the patient on board, in a rough sea, with a north-easterly breeze blowing. She landed him at Loch- boisdale and reached her station again at five o'clock.—Rewards, £20 14*. lid.
