Lead Us and Faith Star

Whltby, Yorkshire.—During the morn- ing of the 4th of March, 1954, the weather worsened while the local fishing fleet was at sea. All the boats returned to the harbour before the harbour bar became dangerous, except the Lead Us and Faith Star. At 1.46 in the afternoon the No. 1 life-boat Mary Ann Hepzeorth was launched in a rough sea, with a strong north-north- west breeze blowing. She escorted in the two boats and arrived back at her station at 2.40.—Rewards, £9 2s. 6d.
