MR. CHARLES E. FIELDING deputy chairman of the Manchester and District branch, who had been an honorary worker for the Life-boat Service for 55 years and an honorary life governor of the Institution, died in the Isle of Man in October 1953.

The funeral service was held at Man- chester Crematorium on the 24th of October. Mr. Fielding left a request that there should be no flowers, but that donations should be sent to the Institution..
