Susan Ann
Appledore, Devon.—At 8.30 on the evening of the llth of July, 1953, the second coxswain told the coxswain that he had seen the yacht Susan Ann, of Fremington, with a crew of four, make distress signals. The Susan Ann was off Crow Rocks near Appledore lighthouse, and at 8.40 the life-boat M.O.Y.E., on temporary duty at the station, put to sea. The sea was choppy with a fresh south-westerly breeze blowing. The life-boat found that the Susan Ann had broken down, and at the owner's request towed her to Instow. The life-boat reached her station again at 9.50.—Rewards, £3 10s..
