Survivors of 1899 Disaster

THE only two living survivors ofthe Aldeburgh life-boat disaster in 1899 were guests of honour at a dinner given by Ipswich supporters of the Institution to the present crew of the Aldeburgh life-boat, and their wives, at Ipswich on the 30th of September, 1953. The twosurvivors are Mr. Daniel Wilson, of Aldeburgh, and Mr. Robert Thorp, of Chelmsford. Also present was Mrs. Millar Ward, the only survivor of the wives of members of the 1899 crew.The dinner was organised by Mr.Oliver C. Jones, honorary secretary of the Ipswich branch. Mr. E.P.
