Mr. J.S. Wood, of Hartlepool

Mr. J. S. WOOD, at one time secretary of the Hartlepool Port and Harbour Commission, who died on the 15th of May, 1953, at the age of 60, was for twenty years the honorary secretary of the Hartlepool life-boat station.

He was appointed in November, 1932, and retired in July, 1952. He was presented with the Institution's in- scribed binoculars in 1948, and on his retirement with the Institution's thanks inscribed on vellum to record its gratitude for his many services to the Institution..
