Ros Ruadh
Valentia, Co. Kerry.—At four o'clock on the afternoon of the 8th of April.
1953, the Valentia radio station re- ported that the trawler Ros Ruadh, of Dublin, had broken down four miles north-west of Bray Head, and at 4.15 the life-boat A.E.D. was launched. A fresh north-easterly breeze was blow- ing, with a moderate sea. The life- boat found the trawler eight miles north-west of Bray Head, with a crew of four, in need of fuel. She recovered the trawler's fishing gear and towed her first to Valentia, and then, at the skipper's request, to Cahirciveen. The life-boat reached her station again at 12.35 early on the 9th.—Property Salvage Case..
